Anglican Religous Communities
The men and women who live their lives in religious communities are giving a huge gift to the Church through their witness and their prayer. Whether they live in silence and meditation or join in the active tasks of service, healing and teaching, they remind all of us two things - the seriousness of God's call to self-giving, and the astonishing possibilities that open up when that call is answered with generosity and commitment. I'm deeply grateful for all that they do and are; and I hope everyone in the Church will share that application, support them in their calling and encourage others to consider that call. Welcome
Welcome to this website. It is here to introduce you to some men and women whose response to God’s call brings them a radical freedom.
Christian communities are not new; from its earliest days the church has had at its heart groups who have chosen to make a common life of work, prayer and study. Dissolved by King Henry VIII they were born again in the Church of England in the nineteenth century focussing themselves on concerns such as health care and education for the needy or mission work at home and abroad, alongside their regular work of prayer.
